The 250R, the banshee handles like crap! IMO

LT500R, LT250R, and TRX250R are the best 2 strokes ever they are about 15 years old and a whole bunch of them are still on tracks on in the trails and allmost everyone owned one at one point or drove one and for dirtbikes old cr125's are awesome

best 2stroke ever is gona have to be somthing with a power valve like a CR250 ,YZ250 , RM250, KX250 , correct me if im wrong but i dont think the trx/atc250r, lt500/250R ,banshee or even KXandCR500 come with power valves stock, the power valve makes the exhaust port open and almost doubles your hp ,all 125/250motorcross bikes newer then 1982 have them ...IMO yz250 is best

 

Im guessing youve never rode a CR500. There is very few people who want them to be faster. In fact the "85 was the strongest motor and they slowed it down every year after that.

 

yes i have rode a cr500 and there is no need for a power valve on one of those beast ..im just saying its a fairly simple but very genius how a power valve delivers useable horsepower ...and i have seen powervalve kits for a cr500 before ...

 

No they don't... Power valves don NOT increase your HP... They do control were the power comes on at.. That is they smooth out the power band of a 2-stroke... They do give you more useable power on the low end and mid range, but they do NOTHING for top end... If anything they take away a little of your top end power....

 

The zilla (i.e lt500) has a power valve. And I think a quad thats 18years old and still kicks but isn't too bad. The zilla have a few issues but can be fixed and then they are a reliable monster.
