hey all, i just thought i would tell you that i am the proud new owner of a Yamaha Kodiak 450. The place i went to was out of 2005's, so they gave me a good deal on a 2006. Is there anything i should know about this atv or anything special that i need to do? How do you recommend breaking in this atv? Thanks in advance.

be carefull they tip over my buddy just broke his wrist in 3 places and has a halo thing on it. i would get new rims and tires because i think the front tires need to be wider and that would solve the tippy issue when turning

The Kodiak 450 I know is an awesome atv! I just bought a brand new 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 660 4x4 Automatic! The IRS ( Independent Rear Suspension) is awesome! I've been trying to break mine in also. They told me at the dealership to vary the throttle and let off the gas to let engine braking slow it down. That seals the rings good they said. Don't give it full throttle too much only once or twice for a day of riding and don't top it out and you'll be fine. Don't just hold the throttle at one position. Change the oil after the first or second day of riding and then after break-in. Congrats on the new Yamaha Kodiak 450!
