RAPTOR vs. DS650 vs. 400EX
#11
Ok today at 130 pm , on a 500 foot gras drag course, we had the annual atv and sled drags on grass, saw the 400 ex the Raptor and the DS all race togther, Raptor won every time, 650 was next and the EX was last, it was close to be honest, but the raptor beat them from Start to finish. the Raptor is one nice looking machine! he wheelied from the start on the first race, and stil won. only by a couple lengths, the 400ex is a decent machine for hanging in there. But my friends stone stock 400 Xpress beat the 400 Ex and was only 2 lenghts behind the 650 and the Raptor LOL talk about some mad people, a 1996 Xpress 400 from Polaris hung in there better than the 400 EX and was damn close. but the Raptor beats the DS and the EX no trouble everytime, so please no need to keep arguing the point.

first gear is way too short and not very usable, so I made the gearing taller. It may help with wheel spin. It gives a better holeshot in a drag race. Also, at times I had trouble finding the right gear on low speed trails - 2nd was winding out too much and third would bog at low RPM or would be too fast. A sprocket change helped with this also. Also, I couldn't stand the high RPMs in 5th gear. Now I ride at lower RPMs on average as compared to stock gearing.

I am one of the guy's who bent my axle (twice), and all I could here was everyone not believing me. Some jerk off wanted pictures??? Now my Raptor is out of time or something. It's a fast bike...but my 400ex is a lot more dependable and durable. Every time I ride my Raptor, I take it to the shop to get something fixed.
