'06 Grizzly?

yea not the 06, since the Raptor came out new this year the Grizzly with next year. Yamaha has a reputation for doing that. So you could pretty much bet that next year it will have a 686 which they call a 700 and EFI.
I'll take the 660 I dont care about that, its got enough power for what I want. Its the EFI that I want, having a carb is what keeps me from going to the Black Hills. I hate trying to figure out the right jetting for elevation.

Yea when you think cc it doesn't seem much. but what if, what if we say the 660cc Grizz enigne is just like having a 302 ford. Now add 26 cudic inches to it what do you got. a 328ci now if you know your motors and boring to just get a 302 to be a 306 you have to bore it .060 which the max on the cylinders. To get more ci in a 302 you have to stroke it.
So actually 26cc to a 660cc engine is quite a bit. You bore that 660 to a 686cc and then add what they call a 4mm long stroke and your grizzly is now a 726cc. So, WOW 4mm did all that. adding 4mm to the over all stroke gave the grizz 40 cc more in the chamber. To me thats DAMN impressive.
So, yea the 686 is a big difference, but what most of us want, like me is the EFI, no more jetting. Yamaha also said the computer can reconfigure for a aftermarket pipe with out having to add a power commander. NICE!!!!

I would love to swap EFI into my Wolverine. I ride in Colorado once a year (live in KS), and can only jet for 10,000ft(typicaly this is when we have the steepest climbs). It runs a little lean at camp (7,000), but turds out at 14,000ft.
If it is possible I might try to find a wiped out (rolled many many times) 07 Griz and swap the engine and EFI into the wolverine. Who knows.
