Raptor Sand Report

I definitely didnt want to do the jetting myself on this motor, so I removed the spark arrestor and was ready to put it back in just in case the motor was running too lean.
After running the bike in the dunes for a couple of minutes I checked the plug and it looked good. I really did feel a big difference on the powerband.
As far as 2nd gear starts are concerned, I didnt really get on the throttle that hard this trip. I am still babying it. Maybe next trip, but the front end definitely likes to stay in the air.

I dont know the answer to that question, I eagerly await the answer myself. I have about 10 more hours and then I am going to have my valves adjusted and really let'er rip in the dunes! But that wont be until November,...

Actually as far as graphics are concerned that is the way it comes from Yamaha. I will probably buy one later on after I put some scratches on the factory kit.

First of all the weather there is about 90% of the time on the sucky side. It is usually always overcast, cold and windy there.
Secondly the quads are old, beat up, Honda Recons and they are $$expensive to rent$$. I think $75 an hour or more.
Lastly, the dunes are treacherous, one a scale of 1-10 for Unpredictability Pismo gets a 10! You have to be a complete moron to ride fast at Pismo, because you can never tell at all what type of dune is in front of you.
