drinking and driving :(

For the most part I havent come across alot of other peoples on the trails we normally ride, but this last weekend we went to a more popular place for riders. And let me just say i was pretty unsettled at the amount of people that i talked to while out riding that was wasted or well on there way. Dont get me wrong i have nothing against getting wasted, but it has a time and a place and that time is not when your out riding on public trails on your quad. Is this something that happens everywhere?? and if you do this why?

Well there is a difference in having a few beers and being wasted and one of the guys i talked with could hardly stand up. I dont know how he didnt get killed

There was an incident in my town about a month ago on a banshee with drinking and driving. They were doubling, at night, with no helmets, while drunk, on a banshee. Well someone pulled out infront of them and long story short the passenger didn't make it I know a lot of people that drink beer when they ride, but only one or 2.. Drinking and driving for me and my friends is a no no But not just drinking Oh and by the way the person that died was only 20 years old.

i live in the boonies, and the funniest thing i ever saw was a buddy of mine pull into my driveway on his dirt bike (he had been riding the trails),and in slow motion keeled over with the bike laying on his leg
now bear in mind,he's 6'4",and about 220 lb's,and couldnt get the bike off his leg,,,and my delema was,do i go over and pull the bike off him,or let him continue his struggle,,,i let him struggle, only because i couldnt stop laughing
i personally quit drinking all together over 2 years ago,but all of my freinds still drink,,,and to be frank, being sober has its advantages when watching everyone ride drunk,,,you see some of the craziest things your freinds are capable of
i have no problem with people having some beers while riding,,,but i say again we dont have to ride on public land here,,,its all private, some owned by myself, and neighbors that ride, totaling around 1000 acres

some people that i have seen on the trails have a beer or two before they go riding and they still have control because one or two beers does nothing to u. people that drink more than that and get wasted get into a load of troubles.

I carry a cooler with beer as well as water or a sport drink of some kind. I'm at least smart enough to know that beer alone will dry you out. Is it right to drink while riding, of course not, but it's what i like to do. I'm not going to defend it but I'm also not going to chastise others for doing it.
How many people drink while out boating? And you can't even talk about snowmobiliers, who ride from bar to bar in the middle of the night at 90 miles an hour.
Everyone has choices to make and you get to live with those choices.
