2 strokes only take about 1/2 hr break in time being that they are only supposed to last about 40 hours of hard riding, which is what they are designed for. 4strokes on the other hand are made totally different and are made to last for years with little work, so they take a few hours to properly break in. but hey, how many of us really take the time to break in a new quad??? i mean seriously you got a new toy. who wants to putt around and look like a girl?

and who ever posted about this being about a new quad and not a rebuild...whats the difference??? all the internals are "NEW" so why would it be different??

TheTurtle your hace 1/2 hour idea would reduce the life of your engine greatly, so please stop it. Am afraid the new quad kids would lesson to ya and that way reduce the life of their brand new stock quad, sorry dude I have to correct people, thanks.

So here is the deal 10 min(warmup) + 1 hour 1/2 throttle + 10 min(rest) + 1 hour 3/4 throttle + 10 min(rest) = 2 1/2 hours and you are ready to go to full throttle and ride as you wish.

What gives you this masterfull knowlege you have on engines? I have worked on, modded, or rebuilt more engines than most people will see in there lifetime.

ALL of us on here that have "OUR WAY" to brake in an engine, will ALWAYS do it "OUR WAY". The only reason I go in this jacked up post; was because I thought you were asking a ligit question. But instead I have figured out that you are a Jack-@$$.

if you ride a 2 stroke the way they are supposed to be ran they dont last much more than one good year. they may run much longer but not with the performance they should be showing. if you baby a 2 stroke all the time then they will last forever but thats not what they were designed for. they are made to be revved to the moon all day. if you ride like that you should rebuild after 40 hours or so. they may seem to be running fine but they are in need of a fresh bore piston and rings. i thought my blaster was fine until out of curiosity i checked my compression...90lbs and it still ran "fine." after a fresh top end i had around 165lbs of compression. if u ride like a ***** then things tend to last longer.

One of my buddies at the school told me, even for the cars you are supposed to do the breakin if the car is brand new.

I think if I remember correctly it is somethin like 1000 miles at low rpm somethin like 2 grand rpm

so who is mester right guy, ha, mester.
