The Banshee can me made into an excellent all-around quad. If the '87 your looking at is mechanically sound (Engine and Trans) it will give many hours of arm pulling fun. Be sure to check A-Arm Bushings, Swingarm and axle bearings, etc on a quad that old. You "trick of the day" types that believe the new bikes are all that, just remember the Banshee, 250R, and Quadzilla are what got the sport to what it is today. And when the latest greatest bikes are dead and gone, the old hot-rod two strokes will still be around!

the banshee is a therapeutic quad, you'll never had so much fun time if you do like fast top end power, the harder you ride it faster it get there, stock suspension sucks, but it's that way you can go faster, and
as for reliability,a twin is superior to any single.

i really do hate some people in forums like this. every one beleves what they hear. i havent fouled one plug sience i got my quad about a half a year ago. you dont have to rebuild your quad every year. racers rebuild there quad every racing season even if its not badjust to have a clean engine to give them that " extra" advantage. people hear rumors from stupid people that the shocks are bad. i do jumps and whoops just fine with my stock suspension. ok mabe they require alittle bit of maintaince but its not like you have to fix something after every time you ride. banshees do fine in trails. it just depends on how wide they are. i go on trails about 7- 10 ft wide and i have no problem. of corse there not going to make it through tiny little trails thats why they made 4x4. the banshee is not a bad quad. remember that the tecnology from this quad is from 1987. for almost 20 years they didnt change mutch on this quad except for in 1990 i think they did something with the brakes. if they were to put.... new suspension.... new pipes...... different bore..... and all this technological shyt from 2005 it would be just as good as any 4 stroke. go for it. if it looks good and runs strong and you can harness this beast of a quad then go for it. just try not to get ripped off.

I would rather ride an antique 2-stroke thrill ride than a boring modern 4-stroke. Thats why I traded my ds.................for a shee. Now if I could find a broken down 250r for cheap. 2-strokes forever. Oh yeah 4-strokes are like tampons, every ***** has one.
