Gas Gas is a spanish company that makes Bikes and now ATV's. Look them up on line. For racing ATV's, they have a four stroke 450 (?? 500) and a 2 stroke 300.
My 2 cents as to why you don't hear more about them...The mags like DW have a definitve bias toward the Big 4 from Japan. Companies like KTM, Cannondale and now Gas Gas have to be twice as good to get half the credit...a real double standard.
Look at the High Performance Shootout a few years ago between the Z400 and the 'Dale. The Z won. That was ridiculous. The Dale did everything better, had a lot more power, EFI and had friggin Ohlin shocks for crying out loud but the Z was "more friendly" and had reverse...I thought it was a HIGH PERFORMANCE shootout, not a "friendly sport quad" shootout.
The Gas Gas is treated the same way. Actually, I think it HAS Ohlins too. If you're not part of the IN crowd, you get no kudos.

Speaking of KTM, I guess they're coming out with ATVs soon. I was on their website and under JOBS, they were hiring a person for ATV Chassis development for a full line of ATVs. That's cool. I'd love to see a version of their 525 XC or 450 SX in a Racing ATV.
Maybe the Status Quo mags like DW will even give them a pat on the back.
