Why didn't they put fuel injection on the 06 YFZ?

Because it is a RACE BIKE. Say your at a track and your getting ready for a race and you bike just aint running right. On a YFZ you can easily check numerous things with the carburetors. If you had EFI, and it messed up.....YOUR SCREWED!!!!!!!!!

I guess we will find out how problamatic (IM NOT SURE IF THAT'S EVEN A WORD) the fuel injection systems are on the 700R and the LT-Z450 in 06

Who needs reverse when these things will spin turn on a dime? As for EFI, Yamaha was the leader in the market when they introduced the YFZ. There was no pressure to go with EFI at that time, so why bother with more expense and complication? I would not be surprised to find that they have an answer to Suzuki within one model year of the Z450 being released though.
