I just bought a Renthal 12t sprocket and put it on tonight, rode it in the alley for a while and what little I rode so far it is deffinately worth the $25 (little expencive but worth it). It rides so much better in 1st and 2nd. These things should have 12t stock. This is a MUST, the $15-25 is worth it!!

Where did you get the Renthal sprocket? Does the clueless Yamaha dealership carry them?

The 12 tooth renthal sprocket is definetly a quality piece, worth the 26 dollars. 1-877-renthal.Routing the breather tube would not help, its still exposed to dirty air,it needs a filter. Here is a quick fix....i used a small piece of a dust mask cut to fit over the plastic nipple where the hose goes on.Just slip the cloth over the nipple then the hose over both.

I don't seem to understand why you guys are gearing down on the Raptor? I just got mine yesterday, I don't see any probs. I have a 00' 400ex and it seems to be geared too high if anything. I can be in 1st gear, (on the Raptor), let off the clutch, crawl only at idle speed, give it gas, and the thing takes off like a rocket. I don't know, it just doesn't seem to be bad at all. And it doesn't have a problem going into 2nd either. I do woods and trail riding. Also, I took out the baffle a little bit ago, and what a difference! Way loud! I love it! It seems to be more crisp and responsive. Try it, you'll like it!

theox.....Dont let that piece you put in get plugged up with dirt. It will have negative effects on your oil seals from pressure. Check it often.
