12 tooth front for Raptor
#1
I have checked with 2 Yamaha dealers about getting a twelve tooth front sprocket for my Raptor, and both places claim that they don't have anything available like that now. Where did you guys pick up yours? I also called FMF and they said they will be coming out with a pipe next week. And about the "breather tube filter thing", why couldn't the breather tube have been routed to the inside of the filter box? If I did that, would I be robbing the carbs of much needed oxygen?

Hey man, someone at FMF must be ****tin ya because I just got the Power Core 4-2 today from GoldenWest Cycles in CA. I had it 3-day shipped the price was $260 or $270. Call them at 800-383-6776. They also have the Motion Pro twist throttles and alot of other stuff. I also just ordered the 12-tooth front sprocket from sprocket specialties that ironbear recommended. $13- later.

Actually Graydon Proline has a full system already for about $500, but I don't know what kind of quality and performance they have. I ordered my XC grab from them and they told me all the stuff they had out for it trying to upsell me I guess. Later.

I bought a 11 tooth sprocket from sprocket specialists. It was $12.99 plus $3.59 shipping for a total of $16.58. I was about to put this sprocket on my Raptor but after inspecting it, I noticed that the teeth did not taper towards the tips. The ends of the teeth were square. It also appeared very low quality with no signs of heat treating. Since the teeth were not tapered like the stock one, it seemed very likely it would make the chain fall off if it ever got slightly off track. I ended up putting on a Renthal 12 tooth to be safe since the Renthal was tapered like the stock one. I would not recommend the Sprocket Specialists products after discovering the poor quality that they produce. I still have the 11 tooth if anyone wants it -- it's free to anyone that dares put it on their Raptor and risk damaging their expensive new quad. Since it costs too much to ship it back, I'm stuck with it. A word to the wise -- don't risk damaging your expensive quad with a cheap sprocket from Sprocket Specialists!! Inspect your new sprocket to make sure that the teeth taper toward the end of the tooth so that it will not cause the chain to jump off the sprocket. The Renthal sprocket is much higher quality and worth a few extra dollars.
