1990 Moto 4 rear noise ??

1990 Moto 4 350
Bought a 90 350 Moto 4. Runs great, everything works, and it's just the thing I need for putting around in the woods. Rode it 7 or 8 miles Sunday over logging roads, nothing wild, Unit is not ridden hard, mostly 1st or 2nd gear woods creepin. Anyhow it has developed a noise which seems to be coming from the rear. 1st gear is only when I hear it, but it may be doing it in others, but I can't hear it ( Old Guy) w/ worn out rock & roll ears. It's sounds like a scruncing noise, not exactly a gear noise, not exactly a grinding noise. Checked rear lube, full, Adjusted clutch screw, checked oil,Full. There is no slipping or vibration when the noise occurs. I have had this for about 6 months and never had any problem, but the noise doesn't sound good.. I do know that my shaft boot is bad on the top end. The noise almost sounds like a dry universal. Checked rear wheels, nothing obvious here. Friend said it could be brakes hanging ?? Any suggestions ??

1990 Moto 4 rear noise ??
My warrior was making all kinds of creaking and banging noises for a while, and it ended up being the swingarm bearings. Set the quad up on the frame so the rear wheels aren't touching the ground at all, grab onto the axle, and try to push it side to side and shake it around to look for free play. If there is noticable play side to side then either your axle bearings or swingarm bearings is probably the problem.
