Default mix & match tires

Does anyone use different tires on the back than on the front. Like everyone else (it seems) I'm in search of the perfect tire for the riding I do. I curious about the combination of a more aggressive tire in the back, like a Highlifter MST and a tire that will ride a bit smoother in the front, something like a dirt devil or a kenda bearclaw.

My hopes are that I'll have a smoother ride, I'll save some weight in the front, and I'll save some $ as well.

let me know what you think.

i have seen tire combos, and i guess they work like you say with the traction and weight-as long as the tires are the same height, i dont think it matters--dont go and buy a 27" tire for the rear and a 25" tire for the front cuz it will screw up your 4x4 system. if you do buy two different tires, i would measure them to be sure they are similar in height, cuz not all tires are as tall as marked. just my 2cents good luck 450kodman
