I just bought a Raptor 700 this week! Tomorrow my boyfriend and I and a friend are going to the coast so we'll be able to tell ya how they compare. Should be a good time!

With all these posts about the 700R, I'm amazed at how many people are concerned with the question of which will win in a drag race. Don't think I'm dissing you guys for asking, it just seems more are concerned with that question, more than how it peforms as a overall quad. All I know is that the improvements are very welcomed, they made some very nice and trick improvements.

Congratulations on your purchase, did you get white or blue? The PSAR group from the Where To Ride Thread, is planning a trip to Florence, Oct. 13th - 16th, we'll have 15 sites at Driftwood II, sites 7- 21 and others staying at local motels. With our most recent headcount we're looking at having 50 riders and quads, if you get a chance come on down and say hi and ride with us.

I got the white one. Almost every quad that my boyfriends family owns is the traditional Yamaha blue so I had to do something different. That definately sounds fun in October so I'll write it my calendar and maybe you'll see us there. We've actually got a cabin that I think is very near the Driftwood camping areas so it would be pretty easy for us to make the trip. Happy riding!

Results are in: YFZ and 700 are comprable. Without the mods on my boyfriend's YFZ my 700 would have beaten him on top end...however....I was slower :-(. Not bad though, I'm still happy. I prefer to ride the 700 because of the suspension difference....Its a lot more cush. Nicer on my ***. It was a good time, and I'm glad I didn't get the YFZ. Oh BTW, this boyfriend I keep talking about has the screen name BigBubba on here...just an FYI.

There are far more things to think about than being the fastest. Where you ride should play a huge role in what you ride. I bought a white 700r after 4 years on a ds. The 700r is the best all around machine I have ridden. If i rode dunes only I would probably get a 450. I spent Saturday @ LS utah and sunday riding desert and trails. In the dunes an easy 8 on the trails a 9+.
Just my opinion

I agree that being the fastest isn't everything. I like trails alot better than racing, but just wanted to let everyone know what's up. I also forgot to mention that my 700 got highcentered a couple times, which was annoying. Could have been my dumbass self, but hey, lets blame it on the ground clearance

I have a Raptor for the trails and bought the 700R for the dunes, I agree, the YFZ is probably a step-up for the dunes, but I just can't get adjusted to the small feel of it, the egros of it just don't feel right to me, not dissing the YFZ, it's just right for me.
