#1
Been riding my 700 for around a month now and today when I went out one of the screws holding my heat sheild in place blow off leaving a pretty big hole in my header pipe now the bike sounds like crap and doesnt perform well at all so its in the shop hope they fix this problem fast.

It's not a bad idea to check all nuts and bolts after 20 hrs or so, I do this as a scheduled maintance every 20 or 30 hrs, all nuts and bolts can rattle loose, even on a new quad.

The screw didnt rattle loose tho...the screw screws directly into a weld on the header pipe and the whole weld just blow right off...the screw was still attach to the weld where it was srewed in after it blew off

OK, the nut is welded to the headpipe, the nut came off and now you have a hole in the pipe? or did the nut just break off the welds? If you have a hole in the headpipe, take it back to the Dealer where you bought it, they should replace that headpipe, just don't how a nut that's welded on a headpipe can break off, I've never heard of that.

I just got back from the dealer and they had my entire exhasut system ripped off and said the problem was in the weld and said they would have to order a whole new pipe and they finally decided to tell me that my raptor was one of the ones with the fuel pump recall and they have to order that part to.
