My Tecate or my R absolutely bury his Z400 and he knows it. But even when we switch quads, I still get from point A to point B faster no matter what the terrain or obstacles because I'm a better rider. That matters more to me. The only thing a drag does is take the rider out of the equation (unless the moron can't shift at all) and put all the credit on the machine.
Either way, no matter what you do or don't do to your quad, I doubt either of you will even get quad length gap on the other (or not much more anyway). When it's that close, who really cares.
Make a course through a combo of fields and woods with rough spots, corners and jumps. Beat him at that. The split second difference in plain speed between the quads won't matter but your skill will.

good for you. Shutting him up should be easy if he couldn't even beat you when there's rider skill involved and he had twice the quad. Tell him to stop hiding behind his Raptor and beat you himself. If I were your cousin, I'd be embarrassed.
What good is the "bigger unit" if your a "minute man"??? hahaha
It's not what you got, it's how you use it.

BTW, look at the sprocket set-up on my Tecate 4. I use 14/46. The stock is 13/39. With my set-up I lose about 6-8 MPH off the topend. Ask me if I care.
I got a lot more snap in the lower gears this way....just where I want it. I'll never miss those extra miles per hour on top. I'm too busy riding in 2nd to 4th gear most of the time.

Again, what good is bragging about a higher top speed when he's always staring at someone's tail pipe as soon as he has to turn his handlebars and do some "riding".
That's like some smart a$$ punk bragging about how his big buddy will kick your a$$ if you tick him off but he couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag himself. Pathetic.
I could beat my cousin even if I was on an old honda 200SX. I don't need a shiny, laser guided rifle to hit the bullseye.

BTW, a YFZ450 is quite a bit faster than either 400...in any gear. Anyways, if your cousin "knows it all", he should figure out how to ride fast instead of just having a fast quad. There's a big difference. Ever see how some racers always get the holeshot and wind up finishing in the middle of the pack??
