Default SCREEN ON THE INTAKE ON THE 700

I was stating to cut the screen out on the mounting part of the airfilter. I took the airbox of so I wouldnt get any wire in the motor. Has anyone else done this yet? I am trying to get all the wire off but its not to easy. Are they any after market kits yet to replace this thing?

I see that GTY-R have a billet plate and hi-flow air filter to replace the air box. I dont want to remove the airbox so let me know how you go with the backfire screen. I have been waiting to hear how people go with this before I rip mine out...

I got the 2 top sections out. I dont think I am going to do anymore. I got some sand paper here to try and clean up the edges.

The GYTR air filter replaces the stock filter and the backfire screen. It utilizes the stock airbox. It takes about 30 minutes to install.

Use the GYTR air filter and mounting plate. Remove your backfire screen and stock air filter, Install the mounting plate on the stock airbox and clamp on the new air filter..

Much better design and easy to install.. Like Air said,, about 30 minutes.

That is great news. I thought it did away with the airbox all together. I have put in an order for the plate, hiflow filter and outware (they are already on backorder). Thanks for the clarification Trxoutlawz and air.

Hi...nube alert. So...do any of you want to explain to me what it is y'all are doing and why? I'm pretty keen on keeping my quad stock for the time being, but I'm curious and obviously don't know alot about mods.
