Here we go with what it takes one bike to beat another bike in a long drag..
I would say get rid of the 450 and buy the 700r..
What are you really wanting to know.. If you are going to mod one bike to beat another stock bike, whats up with that.. If you mod both bikes you still wont beat it..
I had a honda 450r beat me in a long staight pull last weekend. But that doesnt mean a 450r will beat a 700r,,, does it?
He had a full HRC kit, piped, taller gearing and in the long haul he was a couple of mph faster, but he couldnt get off the line very fast..
So whats it all mean,, absolutely nothing...

That is a tough one. I have never seen one in action myself. I have heard that the Zilla was Bad to the bone. Dirt Wheels likes to re-print their older tests. It would be cool if they did a real, side by side test of a new quad with one of the old beasts. Like trx450r VS 250r.

They will never test the latest "greatest" machines against the older 2-stroke bikes. Why? If they were to show you that the late 80's technology will still hang in there and even surpass today's bikes, which one would you buy? The new machine for $7000 or the older, just as fast, not like everyone else's $3000 bike? See what I'm saying? I'm not ******* the latest ATV's out today, but if you step back and look the technology gap from 1989 and 2005 aren't that far apart. Sure, the new 700 has FI, but so did BMW motorcycles in the 80's. Just my .02 cents.
