Default Spark Arrestor on a 700r?

So I've heard that a good easy mod is to remove the spart arrestor from the stock exhaust. How much does this help and how hard is it. Also is it a bad idea to remove the air box lid on the dunes?

No problem with the lid off at the dunes as long as you're oiled up good, you might want to invest in a paper filter with an outerwares for the dunes though, the oiled foam filter is better suited for the dirt. I haven't taken my sparky out so I can't answer that question. I've heard it makes a little bit more power with the lid off and the sparky out, but not much, just remember some places require a sparky and if you get checked, it could be a ticket for you.

Just take the 8mm bolt out at the bottom rear of you exhuast and pull the sparky out. You might have to get some visgrips and twist and pull at the same time

The best thing to do is take the 8mm bolt out and clamp some vises on the sparky and tap the vises with a hammer. Twisting could cause it to bend and the end. Tapping it with a hammer takes little effort at all.

I took the spark arrestor out of my 700 but it really didnt help. the best thing is to just spend a little bit and jet it and pipe it. trust me its worth it.

If you have a 700R, you should know it doesn't have jets. For a full system, you have to remap it with a power commander
