Default blaster help

Hi
I just bought a 1995 blaster that is bored to 250cc and has wiesco piston and gaskets and seals. It also has an aftermarket pipe not sure which brand and it is supposidly jetted correctly. I got it to run after a long time of kicking and I sat there revving it till it stopped smoking so much. Then I started to drive it and it has lurches of power. I thought it was just 1st gear so I put it in second and it was doing the same thing. It was sitting for about 9 months not being driven because of a broken clutch cable (replaced now). Also the gas was left on during that time. Is my problem just the carb needs to be cleaned or something else?
I appreciate any help I recieve.

Default blaster help

Ya I drained the gas and the plug seems ok. It was running fine for about ten minutes then It ran out of gas so I put more in and I was going to drive it home but then it started doing the lurching thing. My friend is pretty good with engines so he said he would clean the carb for me.

It is aftermarket but I don't know which kind becuase the label is worn off. Can I just use the spray type of carb cleaner and spray it in through where the air filter goes and where the gas line goes or do I have to take it apart.
