Having a problem getting the timing chain back on lower sprocket ,What's the trick ??
I've been at it for days what am I doing wrong ? can it be done without taking the hole world apart .
any help will be appreciated thanks !

 

with a piece of wire and some one turning it over for you slowly it worked on my kawaski loop the wire under the sproket with a big hook in the end of the wire like a J and through the chain and turn the crank over slowly pulling the chain on as you go.

 

i was just gonna make a thread on that wat u say doesnt work i have already tryed it but i dont work almost 3 hours try to do the same every time but idk try maybe it almost worked for but no cigar does any 1 know a way to get it back on

 

I tried the coat hanger trick with no luck ,I've already had the side cover off down to the starter clutch,that's where I stopped ,I don't know how to get the starter clutch/idler gear out ,It looks like I need a small puller with 5in long bots to do the trick .

The idler gear just slips off. Once that's off the chain can be taken off and put back on but it is a little tricky.

 

The timing chain can really get into a bind in the bottom of the case. It's best if you can rock the engine back and forth until you have the most slack while pulling on the chain from the top. After freeing the chain up, it should roll right on if nothing is still hanging up.
