with a piece of wire and some one turning it over for you slowly it worked on my kawaski loop the wire under the sproket with a big hook in the end of the wire like a J and through the chain and turn the crank over slowly pulling the chain on as you go.

Default Timing chain problem

I tried the coat hanger trick with no luck ,I've already had the side cover off down to the starter clutch, that's where I stopped ,I don't know how to get the starter clutch/idler gear out ,It looks like I need a small puller with 5in long bots to do the trick .

thanks Joe

The idler gear just slips off. Once that's off the chain can be taken off and put back on but it is a little tricky.

The timing chain can really get into a bind in the bottom of the case. It's best if you can rock the engine back and forth until you have the most slack while pulling on the chain from the top. After freeing the chain up, it should roll right on if nothing is still hanging up.
