Default Raptor float bowls

I already did a search on and found the "tube method" of adjusting float bowls. What the thread did not explain was which screws adjust the float bowls. Anyone wanna help a carb-deficient person?

Have a nice day.

You have to bend the tangs on the floats themselves to adjust the float level. I took my carbs and tank off, set them on my workbench, connected the fuel line to the carbs at the same angle they would be on the quad and checked the tube, if I needed to make changes to the floats, I'd just flip the carb over, take the bottom covers off and adjust the tangs till it was right.

Let me ask you this though. I had my carbs off of the bike and took the screw out for one of the float bowls and removed the float bowl. I put it back in and did nothing else. Don't ask me why I did it, I just do stupid things sometimes. That was all I did. Now the bike runs good except under load at full throttle. I tear out of the hole but, midway through the powerband, it just flattens out. I assumed it was the float bowl. Is it possible I just over tightened the screw that holds the float bowl pivot pin?

If you are running it hard at it flattens out mid to top end, then your floats are adjusted too low. You are running out of fuel, thats bad.

When adjusted, should the float bowls sit at the same height? I am working on this now so, responses are appreciated.

The tangs should be the same height, I don't understand what you mean by float bowl sitting at the same height. I also took both of the floats off the carbs, set the floats on a flat surface, upright with the tangs facing towards me, I then pushed them back against a vertical surface, like the wall against my workbench and looked at the height of the tangs eye level, you can tell if one is higher than the other. Then you can put them back on the carbs and check them via the tube method. The gas in the tube should be even with the mating surface of the float bowl and carb body. Hope this helps, I'll check back tomorrow night for anymore questions.

HappaRap, Your system works great! My floats looked to be good so, I am moving on to the next thing. When it was running fine, I had an aftermarket aluminum airbox with a K&N and an outerwears. I was taking on too much water so, I switched back to the stock airbox with an adapter to remove the lid and a uni-filter. After I changed that, I go on it and rode it down the street. It moved out of the hole good but, fell flat after mid-range. I assumed it was the float bowls. I have since cleaned all of the jets just to be safe. Any ideas?

Floats are set right, jets are clean, clip setting is right. When I take it down the road, at the top end of 2nd and 3rd gear it acts like I am hitting the rev limiter. Could I be hitting it? I don't remember ever hitting it before. Up to that point, my bike has all of its power.
