Randy, As I said the only 700's I've seen run have claimed to be 100% stock with lids and exhaust intact. We all know how much power the 660 gained from a pipe and filter and lid removal so it stands to reason that the 700 will be considerably stronger with the same modifications. I'm just saying that the bone stock machines I've seen arent very impressive. When I see an "opened up" stocker I'll re-evaluate my views on the subject. If anyone around here has one I'd be happy to stop by and see it run sometime. Unfortunately Washington is about as far away from Michigan as it gets in the contiguous US.

I am a former Honda and DS650 owner and as far as I am concerned yamaha finally put togather a great all-around sport quad.
I have two complaints with mine,
1. The stock Hand Grips suck.
2. Not much is available for it yet.
As far as performance stock it is ok. It will beat most machines that are stock.
I put a LRD Slip-on, Dobeck TFI, and a GYTR filter kit and wow.
Last weekend I was beating up on piped, YFZ's, Worked Raptors, Piped Banshees.
What sparkster said is true about the 700's ability to run down the bikes that leave on them.
I passed quite a few YFZ's on the steeper part of the Draw @ Sand Mountain UT.
The performance doesnt fall off as much in the steeper stuff.
