Default Raptor 700 critics

I saw one for the first time at st. anthony and was pretty impressed with it. Has there been any problems or things people have noted that they don't like about the new bike. I am just interested because it seems with most bikes when they first come out there is always someone who is willing to see fault in it. I just want to know what those are.
thanks

So far everyone is liking their 700, but one thing I noticed is that the power increase over the old 660's really isn't much. Mostly a throttle response gain is all. They really did a good job upgrading the Rappy this year, I'm not hearing many complaints at all. The 700 seems to have improved everything that was negative and every complaint about the old 660. It really hasn't been out long enough to tell forsure though, give em 6 months to a 1 year and we'll really see.

From what I've seen they arent end-all, beat-all machines off the showroom floor. Every one I've seen has still been stock, no lid or baffle removal and none of them have impressed me. Piped 660's are still handling them.

To bad your not from my neck of the woods I'd let you take a ride on mine. It speaks for itself. All I've done is add the Power Commander III USB and tweaked the fuel curve
Taken the lid of the Air Box and pulled the highly restrictive baffle out of the pipe and put a Phoenix systems sparky in it's place.

I'm holding my own and tradin wins in sand drags with piped air box moded cammed and even higher commpression than stock Raptors Trx 450R's and Predator's and don't tell me It's all about the rider because I'm old and round and heavy, these are younger guys that can ride the chit out of there quads.
If seeing a basicly stock 700 R run with these guy don't impress you then I guess nothin ever will.

The only complaint I have is yamaha's friggen over drive like 5th gear Which I'm workin on now. But in an uphill drag or short flat drag this thing goes pretty good IMHO.

The one I witnessed at the dunes just had a slip on pipe and he could staart at the bottom of any hill and shift up to 3rd gear climbing and maybe shifting done to second near the top. We are tlking about choke cherry and stuff. Although the climbing was very easy that day. it was the first time i saw a 400 climb it. When he would drag race a piped yfz 450 nd suped up raptor the YFZ would get quite a lead at the start but near the top of the hill the 700 would be catching up. The 660 didn't keep up with either of them very well.

critics will be critics. I have to say that I was impressed to see EFI on a sport quad. The potential for power gains will be unleashed and soon we all will be going to EFI. Same thing happened with cars as I remember. Keep in mind the 700 is nowhere near perfected yet. The next coming years will be very interesting.

OFC, don't get me wrong, this thing is no world beater but for basicly stock she gets up and goes pretty good. Others who have rode it and raced against it seem to share my thoughts. As far as your Raptor being slow, well that's not what I have heard

Win or lose I love draging up comp hill so it sounds like were gonna have some fun at Florence next month and I look forward to meeting you finally
