When I bought my Banshee, I had just blown up my 89 Banshee due to an incopetent motor builder (warranty my a$$). I bought that 89 new in 89 and the top end was 11 years old when it finally let go, and it let go to a main seal leak. My buddy knew I had ridden Banshees since 89 and that I knew quite abit about them. Also I ride sand only, the Banshees playground. I still wonder about the YFZ. They are incredibly fast. I just do not trust that motor. I dont mind a 2 stroke top end, thats easy stuff. I know nothing of fourstrokes.

I disagree, the 660s were but do not knock the 700r

It is a far superior quad to the 660.
It was a mistake to call them a Raptor.
I sold my ds730 to buy a 700R.

i agree with 2stroke4ever if your goin to do any kind of racing sand, track i would go with a yfz they may feel like your sitting on a 2x4 but in the end the yfz will pay off[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] i have not ridin a rappy 700 but i have rode along with one in the trails (i should have stayed out on the strip), at times it couldn't stay with me but it manuverd threw the trees just fine.

 

ya, was going to get my baja turbo'd but for another 2 or 3 grand buy a brand new 06 yfz 450(white)...probably going to yoshi it k&n filter it and put a sweet a$$ bomb squad graphics kit on it....and some haulers.....kick some serious a$$!!!!and to tell the white one from 05 to 06 is the frame 06 is silver not candy apple [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Most people fail to understand that not everyone rides the same places. I ride over 75% of the time in the mountains ranging in elevation from 4500-12000 ft in a short time.
Rocky,tight, nasty trails.I can tell you from personal experiance that My DS sucked there. So why keep a machine that frustrated me 75% of the time.
In the Dunes and desert the DS rules. But that is not where I ride most of the time. Have you ever rode a 700r??? If not do not judge those that have ridden both. It may not be the best for you but it is the best for me.
Not everything in life is about being the fastest. Sometimes it is about enjoying life.
When you get out of puberty you will understand.

 

Well guess what? The old Raptors are nothing compared to the new Raptor 700R.. Thats my opinion..... Now to the original question.. which is better.... 700R or YFZ450...

No matter what anyone says in these forums, you will not get your answer,, You must go ride each of them and decide for yourself which is the best for all of your conditions..


Now, for me it was the 700R, for most of the same reasons as Air..............

 

MY O4 660R TAKES MY FRIENDS 06 700R LIKE AND MY COUSINS YFZ 450. THE 700 ONLY HAS A PIPE K&N AND JETS. THE 450 HAS A LOT OF MOTOR WORK AND A LOT OF SUSPENSION WORK IN A DRAG RACE EVERY TIME ITS THE 660R THEN THE 700R AND COMING LAST THE 450 YFZ
