Rode it back to camp checked the oil res. and when I pulled out the dip stick oil started running al over. Loaded it packed it up early, got home checked oil level and air box,oil level was somehow back down to a normal level and the air filter and box where clean.
I Started the engine and noticed not only is it smoking like crazy, but In getting some coolant vapor comming out of the pipe. The coolant tank is also ready to overflow when the engine revs and then is calm at and idle. My guess is a blowen head gasket, or maybe thats wishfull thinking! In any case it is now at the dealer getting looked at. Just cant stand the idea that there going to have to rip the top off my brand new engine. I'll Post when I get it Back in about a Week.

Anyway, your problem probably has to do with the head gasket, or warpage or something.

Talked with yamaha and they didnt have much to say except " Keep The Faith " Anotherwards Let your dealer do there job. They finally got my bike back together, you know with that brand spanking new head & base gasket, and guess what? (30 days later) same problem as when I brougt it in. Now there going to rip it back apart and install a new cylinder and piston. Hitec Trouble shooting hun! I guess they will start from the bottom and work there way up to the top one part at a time. My guess is a cracked head, but since it's warrenty work Yamaha wont put that on at the same time as the cylinder.
I've got a garage full of trinity parts waiting for it when I get it back. Exhaust, Intake and controller, all by trinity. Then I figure why waste time breaking it back in I might as well take it back apart and install the 734 kit and get the head done at the same time.

I cant even begin to tell you how happy I am with the 734, in a drag race, a 700 with pipe, intake and efi controller is not even in the same league, huge power differance. I know there are faster bikes out there, my 734 is not an all out race bike, but I have raced alot of raptors and 450's and have not been beat with my current setup.

After making a few calls I went with a heavy duty clutch kit from trinity, I was told that the yamaha factory clutch plates are about as good as you can get, the key is to get heavier clutch springs which were in the kit and I believe the heavier springs come from barnett. If one wanted to save some money and your clutch is in good shape you could just get the heavy springs and a gasket....but it is a process to get to the clutch.... I think the 450 and the 700 share the same clutch plates.

....Not that its that big of a deal to you, now that you have totally ripped your motor apart doing the 734 kit, but for all of us that dont ahve the motor apart, the clutch is kind of redicuous to get to. You have to take off the whole damn side of the motor! Its not like on the yfz's or others, with quick access clutch covers! I was looking at maybe doing mine, and it just seems like a pain, for what its worth. I would highly recomend it for people doing the 734 kit, but for stock bores, I would leave it alone. That just my opinion. I would rather be out riding!
