my raptor is gone.........

Well as of today I am without my new quad for a couple of months. I went riding sat. and a guy from LRD Racing came up and asked if they could use my quad to design there exhaust system, and that I would get a free system if I let them. Being the rain is coming, along with the holidays... I figured ( it was a rough desicion... LOL
) what the heck!!! I am actually really excited about it, I have heard there 400ex pipes are sweet!! Another cool thing is I will have befor and after dyno's for my machine. I was told that when they finished the exhaust they are going to give me a proposal to do some motor mods. I sucks not having my quad but I think it will be worth it!!!
Any ways let all of ya'll know how it is when I get it back!!

Maybe I'm being a little skeptical but did you get a confirmation of this guy's identity from a reliable source? I follow 2 golden rules. One is "You can't cheat an honest man." and the second is "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." I'm sure that I don't know all of the details of your meeting with this gentleman but from the way you state it you let some stranger who identified himself as an LRD employee take possession of your quad. Scarey!

Is an exhaust system worth a million hours wide open on the dyno/test riding? I may be a little too skeptical. A reputable company like LRD would surely not borrow your quad and bring it back in a condition less than received. Did you did get some type of contract?

Predator, I assume you are fully competent to make an arrangement to loan your quad to a manufacturer in return for a new exhaust. Not only will you have the first model of this high-performance part, you will have the satisfaction of participating in its development.
I know you appreciate the concerns of those who question your decision, but it is YOUR quad, YOUR decision, and YOUR risk. If in your shoes and offered the same opportunity, I believe many would accept. Here's hoping everything works out to your satisfaction and you have a win-win situation for both you and the manufacturer.

Yes there is a contract.....
If it was a company that did not have the reputation that LRD has I might have said no.... but I am viewing this as a win win situation... just as tree-farmer said, I understand everyones concerns and appreciate it, but to me the benfits outway the risks...... I think I am going to take atvantage of the situation, and have some motor work done to, I mean if I can get it done by LRD for just the price of parts........ I am not known for leaving my machines stock for long, and so now I need to figure out what I might want done in the future, and take advantage of my current situation..... decisions, decisions...
