Im think of getting a bruin 250 2x4 for fishing, camping, etc real simple if you own one leave your height, weight, and anything that has broken on it what you use it for. So i dont make any mistakes. thanks also beartracker or timberwolf.

i had a 2000 beartracker, i was probably 5'8" 130lbs when i had it
its a good machine, reliable too, top speed in the low to mid 40s
probably not a good choice for plowing though

Sounds like you might want to look at a 2x4 Big Bear. It's a little bigger, more powerful, and just as fun.

Or if you like the auto go w/ the 350 bruin 2x4. My wife has the 250 bruin and it goes around just fine. these machines arent speed demons. It has gone through some mud and up some nasty hills. Top speed is low 40's. Go with any of them quads for a low cost, differences are mostly preference.

I saved and saved and purchased a 1992 or 3 (I can't remember exactly, but it was light grey with a orange seat and stickers) Timberwolf. It was my early teens and I rode that machine for a few years. I was extremely happy with the size, maneuverability and drive manners. It also felt very fast to me compared to my Kawasaki Bayou 125. However. I was well under 200 lbs. Finally I started getting into more difficult terrain and traded it for a Polaris Magnum 425 4x4. If that wasn't a mistake, but anyway. The only gripes I had about the machine was the "early" plastic 1/2 sized floorboards. They were simply an extension of the rear fenders and they broke easily when driving over large obstacles. I remember a large log claimed the left side and a rock ate the right. Also the headlights ran from the magneto instead of the battery. Therefore they were only able to be on when the machine was running and only bright when the engine was revved. Albeit I felt they were never really as bright as they should be, even revved up.

Needless to say. I simply added racks to mine and drove the wheels off (Figuratively). I took good care of it but used it heavily, never abused it. I'm rather picky when it comes to my "stuff"..

FWW about a dozen years or so. Just got back into ATV's in '05. The Polaris machine did me in for a number of years. Recalling what a good, rugged, reliable, and easy maintenance machine my Timberwolf was I decided to check out the entry level Yamaha for my wife's primary machine. She isn't into the harder more rugged trails like me. For that I puchased the Eiger 400 4x4. Needless to say. I found the new machine to be great in several areas. 1 full metal reinforced floorboards, Electric lights, Disk front breaks, and the machine already has racks..... It also rides just like I rembered, easy to maneuver and easy to drive. I will occasionaly take that machine for rides when the wife isn't going (frequently, its pretty much my alternate machine anymore). I'm 6'7" and 230lbs. Its a comfortable machine to ride. The riding position is nice and its a great machine for light to moderate trail use. I remember it having a little more power though.... LOL course I was smaller then. Its not too bad powerwise, I find that its best to keep wound up a bit because it struggles a little if the engine RPM falls.

Power is my only real gripe with that machine right now. I'm looking into some power adds, maybe a filter, jet kit, and pipe. If power isn't a huge concern, and mild to moderate trail use, with plenty of cargo capacity (large sized racks) is what you are after then I fully recommend it.
