It probaly varies. Isn't there a rev limiter? Maybe from dealer to dealer they adjust them lower to higher.

Going by what the magazine says?
Yeah okay. The same "magazine" that rates the banshee with 40 stock horsepower one issue and 2 issues later rates it with 24-28. I don't believe half of what they say.
What I DO know is that I have a digital speedometer by Topeak. The Topeak Panoram. www.Branfordbike.com. Anyway, I had a banshee with a top speed around 86mph. I confess that I have to rev it a long way to get 86 out of her, so the more reasonable speed that is easily attained is 83-84. I've ridden with 2 Raptor owners who are close friends of mine. Depending on their tire pressure, type of day, and asphalt contour they top out at 73 with 3.5 PSI in the tires. With 5 PSI it was very close to 74. However, You can only guestimate so close when you're riding next to someone.
What I can tell you is that my top speed in 5th gear is almost identical to the Raptor's top speed in 5th gear. The only difference is that I then shift into 6th. ;-)
