Default 2006 YZF450 vs TRX450r....

With both having upgrades for 2006, which one will be the best in your opinion? Who do you have your money on????????? Myself, I think it's going to be closer this year than before........ A tie is what I predict. Thought about getting one of them, but an 05 R1 is coming home for Christmas.....

You dog, I would love to have an R1. Almost bought one this summer, but decided it wasn't worth my marriage .

I would say the YFZ will still be a tad faster, even with the upgrades being more substantial on the 450R. I sure haven't been too impressed with the 450R so far. Just last saturday I got to whoop a few of them hillshooting at the dunes. I gave a 450R with the HRC cam, airbox, and exhaust mods a 200 foot head start, and still caught and passed him like he was sitting still 3/4 of the way up Sand Mountain. Of course I was on my KTM, so that was like cheating, LOL.

the yfz 450 is still way better then the trx450, the only thing that the trx wins on is the price

desertviper; I was holding out for the 2006 models & I wasn't impressed, so when I go home in Dec. I should find an 05 for a good deal. If not, then either the Honda CBR1000r or the ZX-10. Yeah, that was unfair with that KTM. In my area, alot of people haven't heard of KTM. My experience comparing my raptor to a TRX450r with Curtis Sparks full system & HRC kit was I got my a** handed to me. That 450r rocked!!!! No sh**. If I was on the KTM, well you know better than I do. I guess that's why my Raptor is for cruising & not racing.

The guy obviously didnt know how to ride!! I beat two supposed pro riders this last weekend at Log road against full suspension yfz's! so does that mean my quad is faster, no! I have owned both a yfz and a 450r and stock to stock they are back and forth as far as speed. If you want an all out MX quad get the yfz if you want a trail, XC quad get the 450r.

He was on his KTM, YES it will smoke a 450r. The KTM is a dirtbike, it doesn't matter how the good the guy was you won't beat the KTM on a 450r or a YFZ. You honda lovers kill me.

I agree barry1me read DesertVipers post wrong and is shouting over nothing. But your comment "You honda lovers kill me" makes me laugh. I could say the same thing about "you Honda haters". I believe that is a bit hypocritical.

Not to long ago you were over in another thread bashing on Honda MX bikes when they are some of the best bikes. I don't believe you ever responded to me over there, I wrote out a long post in response to your bashing. Check that out before you start a rant on dirtbikes over here.

As far as me being a honda Lover....read my signature I have 04 yz450f, and I previously had a 04 yfz450. I dont have that much bias, but I do feel that my 450r is a much more quality machine then my yfz was.
