Default a little wolverine carb help

my modified wolverine seems to be jetted pretty good with the exception of a little bit of a bubbly stumble when im moving along just touching the gas maybe 1/8 throttle in say third or forth and maybe a little stumble when im hitting the throttle on and off hard when maneuvering. im thinking maybe low speed jet is rich??????????/

Try turning out your air screw a little more.

How hard was it to put in your 10.5 piston and cam? Did you have to from wearing out the old one or did you do it just for more power?

kinda hard to answer, but ill try, i have rebuilt a number of engines before so i have the basics,as far as the motor it is a simple motor, theres more than enough room between the fram and the head so you can leave the engine in the bike no problem, the strip down of the plastic and tank is simple,so i will say that its apiece of cake ,but you better have some background in rebuilding or it going to be bad. and no it was not worn at all,i did the work for power which was worth the end result.

i am tempted to do that upgrade, but I have to decide if I am going to ride the machine all the time or use it for my wife and get a better machine for me. I have rebuilt car motors before so I imagine tha tI have the skills, and I have the service manual on cd so I should be set there too. How much did it set you back and how long did it take for the install?

didnt take to long i think about saturday tear down, sunday clean and prep, monday/tues porting went to macnine shop to bore wed/thur/ friday assemble motor, saturday put plastic on and start jetting, break in sunday.the cam was 200 piston 200 gaskets 75 bore 75 oil and misc 120,but it was worth the power, smokes all the 500cc in town! i also already had the carb kit exhaust pipe and filter so there some more money,to see my friends face when i left his vinson in the dust, priceless. i would have done it different though if i had more time or another quad to ride .the 426 stroker kit is the best way to go if you wont to beat up prairies and grizzleys, but you need to pull the moter and send it out.

So you got a oversized piston, not just a higher compression one? How much was it bored out? Did you have to tell the machine shop or did you take the piston there so they could check everything? I already have a pipe and filter, but with the 25" tires I am just not satisfied with the power. I would like to beat my friends 300ex though.

the bore shop should know what to do if they dont leave! get a referral.i bored it to the max with gives if 366 cc i think 80 over.and yes you need to bring the piston with you,and have them set the ring gap.i would not go 80 over like i did it not a big deal and it brings the life of the cylinder down.but the high compression part is what gets the job done

there's no replacement for displacement. At least that is what I thought when I did my 440 in my charger.

yeah I had the high compression piston and white brothers cam done on my wolvy I was happy with the results. it needed a fresh top end so i had that and the cam done. It gave me a nice rev. the gears will seem a good bit longer and the power will flow nicely out of your top end. I figure in a few years ill be in need of a new top end and Ill go up to the FST kit somewhere in the 400 CC range
