Rhino drive belt proper installation
Anyone know the proper way to install the drive belt? Does the small square teeth go on the outside or does the larger rounded teeth? The larger rounded side tapers in which would make me believe that this side should point inward.
We installed this belt this way in the bush and didn't have any proper tools so we tightened the bolt the best we could. The Rhino didn't go more then 10 feet and we spun the nut off and messed up the threads on the end of the shaft. Later I wasn't involved but after we got home the nut was put back on with an impact gun. The same thing happened. Can anyone tell me what we are doing wrong?
Thanks.

Does the Rino use an ultra-matic tranny the same as a Grizz? If so the primary sheave does not need to be removed to replace the belt.
The torque spec on the primary sheave for an ultra-matic tranny is 72 FT/LBS or 100 Nm. If you are not using a torque wrench it may not be tight enough.
As for the belt, it is directional and should have an arrow on the outside surface that points toward the front of the quad after installation.
