Grizzly 125
#1
I just bought my wife an '05 Grizzly 125. I've never rode one before and we recieve it in a few days. Any good/bad things to say about it? Does it have pretty good power and how's the speed? Thanks in advance!

A Grizzly 125 for an adult? My 9 year old son rides one and it works great for him, but I would think an adult would get bored with a Grizzly 125 in about 30 minutes. So how big is your wife anyway? If she is in the 90 lb range the Grizzly 125 will feel pretty good to her, otherwise it is going to feel pretty small and gutless. I would be sure she rides it before you lay your money down.
Top speed is about 35 mph as best I can tell (no speedometer).

I think it is to small for an adult. We have one and my 13 year old is already getting to big for it and my 9 year old doesn't ride it much. I was just looking at trading it in, But it is an 04 that was hardly ridin and they said it is only worth $1,400-1,700 on trade so I think I will keep it. It is underpowered for an adult in my opinion unless you ride slow and on fairly flat ground. There is not much suspension to it so and rides ruff and according to my Grizzly 660's speedo it does 36 with me (200lbs) on it. I want to get a kodiak 450, but it will have to wait a little while longer because I am not about to let go of the 125 for $1,400. We have not had any problems with it ecept it has a dead spot if you try to take of to fast and I hear others say it is normal because of the carb size vs engine size.

Thunderbolt,
You can decrease that flat spot in carburation, but not eliminate it entirely. I cut off the last inch or so of the airbox air intake rubber snorkel, where it chokes down to a smaller size, and that lets a lot more air into the carb. I had to rejet from the stock main jet size of 130 (I think), all the way up to a 180 main jet, and now the little Grizz runs quite a bit stronger than when stock.
