All things being equal, if you cloned yourself and your machine. Then your clone went and took a ****. You both launched the same the same etc... your clone would win [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

In other words, **** robs horsepower which is what this thread is all about. When you say "horsepower" I believe you are talking about power and speed which are not necessarily the same thing. Two identicle machines with identicle horse power ratings but running one tooth differance in the sprockets are going to produce different results. The same goes for one machine with and without all the pieces/parts that make up reverse. If you remove those parts you have reduced weight, rotating mass and friction. Have you changed the horse power of the machine? No, you just made it easier to get the power from the motor to the ground.

I agree with you starky.......although need to correct one thing, loosing weight wouldn't make it easier to put the power to the ground, but rather might make the power to the ground more noticable........and will increase acceleration.
