Since we're in the Yamaha forum, I'll go ahead and say about 125 - 130 stock...LOL.

Kidding of course, but probably around 75. If you are making a buy decision on how fast they go stock, no matter what you get, you'll be disappointed.

ya the YFZ may not have good top speed(compared to the 700 or the 660) but it has very good acceleration.

LMAO, did you just guess? I'm not saying your wrong, but noone really accuratly knows top speed differences between the 2006's and 05's, if any difference at all (which is what I would say). A little longer stroke wont add top speed, but rather increase torque or bottom end. You won't notice a top speed difference between the two, especially after modding them both. The 2006 YFZ didn't nearly get the significant updates that the Raptor did, most people can't even tell a difference between them besides the new seat

For only 10 bucks you can make a yfz go 90+ mph, just change the front sproket; however, you will probably never reach top speeds anyway, heck i haven't even gone faster than 80 mph in a car. Top speed doesn't matter, it is all about acceleration and that is what the yfz does best.

Bud, i would beg to differ. The 660 is the king of bottom end whether stock or modded.Especially modded. When you put mod for mod on both, the 660 dusts that thing in bottom end and through the rest of the ranges except maybe top. That is because of one simple thing that everyone has know ever since they kept the same crap on it from the 01 except for the tranny, that the 660 is the most resricted bike stock than any other.
