I have a 2002 Raptor 660. Sometimes, it gets stuck in second gear, and I can't shift down into first gear. This happens sitting still. I have to get off the bike and shake the lever with my hand. There is no play in the linkage. Any ideas?

Start with the simple stuff. Adjust the cable at the lever and the crank case. How's the lever play feel? You still have the stock style linkage shifter, and there's no play in it? That was one of the first things I changed to improve shift feel on my bike. Go to a direct shift lever.
