Default Cleaning Carbon off Bottom of Head!
What is the best method and type of cleaning agent to use to clean the carbon off bottom of head and valves?

Wire brush and engine degreaser.

Default Cleaning Carbon off Bottom of Head!
Tip: Polish the combustion chamber and EXHAUST ports. Match the carb boots to the head as well. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I used steel wool the last time around, which is fine as long as you make sure to clean out all the crap left behind.

Be sure to be care with that wire brush......some can be pretty harsh(and don't use a wire brush on a grinding wheel)........just say away from the part that seals....where the gaskets are.....
