Default Replace Timing Chain?

Putting cam and piston in Raptor. HotCam's instructions says replace timing chain if more then a year old. It's a 2001 but ran alright before. Do I HAVE to replace it?

They run less than 20 bucks and have a brittle history. Replace it.

Default Replace Timing Chain?

I picked one up from the local dealership, twice now. I thought someone had posted a link or two for cheap cam chains but I searched and couldnt find them. Maybe someone can slide in and help you out.

I been doing it for years with good results. I believe that maybe Yamaha switched vendors for the chain, the only reason I can think of for such a drastic price difference.

u might better replace it b/c as long as ur in there u might better do it and not have to rip it apart 3 months from now and do it then, not to mention if it does break then u are ganna have a costly mistake. most likely if u get the timing chain through yamaha its the cheapest, mine for my yfz was like $13
