'97 Magnum 425 - 4x4 problems
#1
I have a 97 Magnum 425 4wd..Bought it new...
It is used in the rice fields, and also for trailriding and hunting.....it is used, but not abused...the problem...I keep having trouble with the front end. The 4wheel drive doesn't want to lock in, sometimes it does and then slips out on one side or sometimes it trys to grab one wheel, always causing for a very strong verying to the right. We farm rice, duck hunt, deer hunt, trail ride..
you name it..we (2 sons) probably do some of it, but we also try to maintain our ATV's to assure performance....we also own a 94'polaris 350 4x4, and an 88 suzuki 80 Quadrunner..high mileage, but usually low mantainence. The 425 has approx. 3000 miles on it, and I have replaced all chains, sprockets, barons, etc...it has really cost me alot.....and I still can't let the boys ride it because you never know when the front end may decide to grab and veer sharply to the right.....each time I have had it worked on, it was the Polaris dealership, at least 4 trips and each time costing at least 250 to 500 dollars.....any suggestions...besides trading it in...and by the way-why does the resale fall so much on a polaris? Thanks for letting me vent my frustrations.......
