What happened to the a-arm? Was it delivered damaged (BENT)?

Hey Raptor,
Most of the riding in the immediate area is somewhat illegal but is done on a regular basis up around the arsenal. Also on route 5 there is a race track that you can run on I cant remember the name but it is on the North side of the road behind TP truck parts. This is just beyond the 59/14 intersection headed west onto route 5. If you dont mind a little trip (about an hour) you can head over to hillsville or down to wellsville.

They might stand behind it, but I think it was a little premature for putting it into production. I think this one turned into a nightmare for Yamaha. All the problems posted in this forum only offer a miniscule percentage of the Raptors sold. Can you imagine all the cash Yamaha is paying as far as warranty work goes.

Quadfather, I have to diagree with the early production answer. The bike is fine. I think that the a-arm I dented was a freak thing that would have happened with any quad a-arm. The carbs blowing off is nothing either once the clamps are changed and the bike is richened up and idle set properly. My 400ex used to "sneeze" more often then the raptor used to and the only reason the carb stayed on it was because A, it had one big clamp on the single carb and B, I would have to guess a lot less back pressure on a 400cc engine than on a 660.

I'll keep riding it if anything else happens I'll let you know. By the way are we on for wayne cnty this weekend?

Sounds like you hooked up with a great shop. What happened to the a-arm, did it bend because of a crash or cause the crash?
Just trying to anticipate.

Tomemilw,

I actually rode it for the whole day and did not notice it till I was done riding. My buudy pointed it out to me. It was the 1st time out on the bike and we were just riding in a small area getting some break-in time. The only place I think it may have happened is on this dowhill area where some desent size tree root stick way out. I heard a clunk when I went down the hill but felt nothing at all so figured all was good until the end of the ride. The a-arm was not that bad about a 2" dent on the under side of the rh lower arm. I could have left on and been fine but it was nice to get it replaced by Yamaha for free! A new a-arm costs $172
