Rear caliper hitting disk.... little help
Hey all,
My caliper has had a little play in its mount for a while now but it always worked and brake pads didnt seem to ware any different than normal so i didn think about it. I started hearing a clanking sound a week or so ago and I soon came to realize that the bridge part of my brake caliper was making contact with my disk, not a good thing. What could be causing this what should I tighten up. I just ordered a parking brake block off cause i figured while i was doing that i would finish up the half completed project of removing the parking brake. I had already removed the whole cable but just left the arm for the parking brake on there. I have a funny feeling that could have somthing to do with it? yes no? I havent had a chance to look at it in detail because im at college accept for every other weekend or so and I just bought a jetboat ive been getting all tuned up and ready so i can winterize it and have it ready to roll when spring comes around. Any idead much apreciated.
Thanks

my dads kodiak 400 was making a noise kinda like that and we noticed that the caliper was riding on the rotor. after we looked closer, we noticed that the bearing in the rear axle housing was worn out and caused the axle to be pushed up agains the fixed caliper. not sure if thats the same problem or not, but thats my 2 cents.
