Follow up !!!!
ok this is the way it happens. I first went through some deep creek water maybe to the top of my tires. really did not have a probelm maybe a little sputtering at the end but was ok after i ran about 15 ft out of the water. then next time was soupy muddly water maybe top of the tire deep. the hole was about 15 yards long. half way in it i noticed some muddy water was splashing up in the front. it started missing and wanted to stall out. i made it through it but it took about 3 minutes for it to start running right. it wanted to start, stall, cut out . i would rev it up and it would miss and carry on .
thanks for your help.

I had the same problem and found the motor was steaming when getting wet and steam was going into the air intake for the carb. I took the panels off the side and went thru water and it ran great. I am going to cut a opening in the removable panels to let the steam out, other manufactures are all open.

did you run it in water with the side panels off. so that did help. someone told me it might be steam getting sucked in the air intake. do you run yours in low range alot I noticed saturday alot of rides run theirs in low range up hills and when the go in mud and water they say it helps with keeping their rmp up. I going to ask this in a new topic today.

might want to put dielectric grease in the spark plug boot if you haven't already. also, i hardly use low range. i will if i pull/tow someone or if it is a really steep hill where you can't get a lot of momentum. i also use low in really deep thick mud. overall i use low probably <5% of the time.
