Friends Blaster Problem

Default Friends Blaster Problem

hey guys its a 2002 blaster all stock, its having problems running, starts drives than as your going it slowly loses power and dies than wont start back up for a few minutes, also sometimes you have to push start it cause kicking wont work

Default Friends Blaster Problem

Sounds like it is low on compression. Did he get it extremely hot? Does he keep the filter clean? Run a compression check. That will tell the story.

before it died it felt like a loss of compression i believe he needs a new spark plug or plugs

you run a compression check with a compression tester, and you would only replace one plug, not multiple. and, the plug should not be the problem. replace the head and base gasket.

either that or its not getting any gas so id clean the carb too

actually it could be the plug cuz its a 2 stroke and if it fouls the plug it wont run, or at least run very badly, so if u take the plug out and its really wet or black then change it and see wut happends, but if that doesnt work try the other stuff

aright we started it up yesterday took 2 kicks than drove around about 45 mins later it wouldnt start again

im pretty sure its the reeds, mine did the same thing when i had a blaster. Also its probably getting flooded or fouling the plug that why it wont start for ~1 hour.

Default Friends Blaster Problem

I'm gonna say that its probobly going to need a new top end. You guys need to quit ridding it though untill you figure out what exactly the problem is or you could cause some serious damage. My old '83 250R and my cousins Quadracer 250R both did the exact same thing you are talking about and it was because we needed new top ends. We kept ridding them like idiots and ended up blowing the engines.
