Default Yamaha R1 VS Nissan Skyline GTR R34 v-spec II NUR

With the Yamaha R1 highly modified, whatever that means to you guys, do you guys think it would stand a chance against a highly customized 2002 Nissan Skyline GTR R34 V-spec II NUR? I was thinking about a 1/4 drag stretch. What do you guys think the process of getting towards the finish line would be like? The R1 just in the lead the whole time because of it's major weight advantage, and it's top speed advantage? Or the Skyline because of it's huge power compared to the R1, it's twin turbo inline 6 engine, and a race base engine (NUR)? Let your imaginations flow.....

In my opinion, a highly modded R1 would deffinetly beat a Skyline because of a HUGE weight advantage, acceleration advantage, and a higher top speed.

BTW a highly modded R1 to me has a turbo.

Oh yeah, when are you getting that quad Fiddling?

yea, the r1 would win kuz of acceleration and weight. i think its unfair to race cars with bikes kuz bikes will always smoke cars, lol. its still fun to watch cars get powned by bikes though kuz they ussually get killed by a lot.

But you got to keep in mind that with the right mods, the Nissan Skyline could have over 1,000 horsepower at the wheels. And thats just a normal RB26DETT engine. Think about a Racebase RB26DETT engine, or the NUR. The NUR was created especially for the track. Thats why less than 50 were made.

Right, but the Skyline is not a normal car. It is not like the Mustangs that you see on the streets everyday. Oh yeah, I forgot. That is just the old Skyline. The new one is coming out and will be sold in the United States without having to go through all the inspections and tests to fit the USA's standards in 2007. It looks more like a luxery kind of car like the Lexus's. But, this one is going to be a bigger engine, and still with the twin turbo!

Link to the ferocious 2007 Skyline.

well i think the skyline would win cuz the bike wouldnt beable to keep the front tire down, so it wouldnt be able to go full throttle, where as the skyline can just smash on it and its gone, he dont have to worry about flippin on his ***.

i think it would be close because a good tuned skyline can run 1/4 miles in the 8 second range on slicks and if i remember correctly the top drag bikes with wheelie bars r running about 7 seconds. i don't think any street bike without a wheelie bar can get 7 seconds so yea it would be close.

Still, wouldnt that potential of haveing over 1000 horsepower make up for the wieght. I heard even an Mazda RX7 twinturbo could take a customized R1.

I actually have quite a bit of experience doing 1/4 mile runs on modified and stock motorcycles. I don't know much about Nissen Skylines, but I do know a lot about sport bikes. I have run in the mid 9's with a Hayabusa and have never seen a street legal car that could touch me. Street bikes regardless of horsepower have a real hard time getting much under 9 because they can't hold the front of the bike down or the rear wheel spins out. Wheelie bars and fat slicks help, but I am talking street legal here. I have stated in other post that I have seen only a hand full of street legal cars run in the 9's. I know they are out there just not here in Phoenix at Speedworld when I am there. Yes the Nissen would need something around 800 horsepower to turn a 1/4 mile in the 9's. It would also need twin turbos or most likely a supercharger to even approach this. NOS is not allowed because you can't use it on the street. I have seen R1's that run in the 9's so my money will stay on the bike.

Oh, when is Markfiddling getting a quad?
