Rats! I celebrated too soon on both counts! Banshee still a no go. Got frustrated and took it in to the Yamaha dealer at $75 / hour and found out my 1 year old stator was FRIED. I pulled it out and it reeks like fried electrical, I overlooked this because I knew it was brand new (like 10 rides on it). Opps. I called Electrex USA and they are going to replace it for free, woot! (normal cost $278.00!)
Stupid KX250 still not starting. Pulled apart the stator case cover and POOF a cloud of dust came out. I %^&* you not there was a fist full of sand in it! Damn seal failed on it apparently. Well I haven't hauled this one into the shop yet (I am having a hard time stomaching the $75 / hour rape job), but I am considering just cleaning the crap out of the whole assembly and replacing the starting coil and the pulser, paying for them to diagnose which part is causing the problem then replacing one of them would cost just as much as just putting both new ones in.
Either way I am truely on the road to recovery, even if my wallet is not.
