I just orderd the full CT pipe and K@N with jets and all that and i was wondering if the jetting will be that hard for a person who has never been inside the carbs. Ive put on pipes and all that but i have never been inside the carbs. I have read hundreds of posts and articles on jetting and i think i will be able to do it but i dont want to take apart my raptor and just get lost. Any advice will be awsome.
Im really sorry im posting another post about jetting but i need to know this before i open up my raptor.
Any thing yall reply would be awsome any tips or anything
Luke

The thing you have to watch for is 1: stripping the screw heads on the bowls, and 2: not securing the carbs properly in the intake boots when re installing. 3: Don't mess up the order of the spacers on the needles.
1: Before you try to break the screws loose on the carb, give it your screw driver a hard tap with a hammer. This usually does the trick. Make sure you have a good quality philips.
2: Make sure the carbs are completely seated in the boots before you tighten the clamps. Push the carbs into the boots as hard as you can. Tighten the intake boots before you tighten the air box boots. If they are not seated, they will fall out and the bike will die instantly.
3:When pulling the needles out, becareful not to dump the spacers on the floor before you can see how they went on the needles.
Other than that it is easy. Pull the front plastic and tank, then pull the carbs.
CT is a bad *** pipe. Sometimes they don't fit very well, but they wake your bike up.

What's up Siebert,
The instructions that come with the jets are very understandable. I was worried the first time I did it, but after digging in, it's a breeze. I can do it in my sleep. The hardest part is take off the plastics to get to the carbs which is not that hard either, just takes time. Just remember that there are some delicate parts in there such as the floats, diaphrams, and springs that you need to make sure that you aren't rough with or lose. If you need any help, there's always a lot of info. to get you through the process.
Also, I sent you a pm! You've got mail.

To stop from stripping the screws get a small tube of Valve lapping compound an put a small amount on the end of the screwdriver. It also helps take out stripped screws
When you get a screw out of the carb run over to a hardware store and get 8 stainless allens to replace them.
