I was gonna do the same thing, but chose to put stock size on mine. Mainly because ITP came out with a 25" Mud Lite XL. It has the deep lugs of the bigger sizes, but not the power loss that comes with the bigger ones.

hey, how do you like your bruin, i have been thinking about getting one for hunting. i used to own a bear tracker and sold it because it was no fun to play on, but now i miss it, esp . for hunting, that bike was strong, it just needed a good set of 6 ply tires and dif rims, the stock ones bent real easy. snow season was fun on the tracker, it would go through a foot of snow no problem, im not to sure how the raptor 660 is going to do in deep snow

Here is a review I just typed about my Bruin for someone else.

Alright here's your review. Well Its a 2004 Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4. I have had it since May of 2004, and it had never let me down. I have well over 700 miles on it, I do not know an exact number because it does not come with a meeter that shows mileage. It is a simple quad with just about everything you need, and nothing you don't. I love the fact it has 4wd, this means it does not become a seasonal quad. I am still able to ride it in the winter. Also for a 350 Machine it can go anywhere the other big boys go. In the usual group I ride with there are 2 Sportsman 800's and a Twin Peaks(Prarie) 700. I can go anywhere they do, and love it. The ONLY complaint I have about my quad is the stock tires. They have horrible grip. There is a very simple remidy to this though, and that is new tires. I got 25" Mud Lite XL's and put them on my machine. I have picture of them on my page. The cost $238 OTD which is very reasonable. I can now go placed in 2wd easily, that before I had to use 4wd for. The price of the tires is easily offset by the great price of the ATV. As far as bang for your buck goes, you CANNOT beat the price of the Bruin. If you just want a basic ATV, that has everything you need and nothing you dont, then this is the atv for you. As for the pulling, the Bruin does great. Especially with the tires. For a 350 it has good power. The handleing is awsome. As far as Mud Riding goes, I have had it in some pretty deep holes, and the only reasons I have ever stopped is because of ground clearence, never because of a mechanical issue. All in all I am VERY pleased with the Bruin. It has been a great quad, I can take it out and beat it up, and it will just ask for more. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I know this thread is old..but I'm going to be buying some mudlite xl's soon and I am wondering if I go 26" am I going to be losing power? If I do is it going to be a lot? Low end, top speed? I plan on getting the delta steel rims, are these too heavy? I dont need the flashy looks of the other expensive rims. Thanks for any help.
