Default overide on grizz

Hello ppl, i just bought a 2006 grizzly 660, when the dealer went over his overview of the quad before i could take it he mention something that sparked some interest, now i havent had the chance to ride my quad yet or i would find out my self...he mentioned the overide button not only overides the limiter in reverse, which i already knew, but it also overides the limiter in diff lock.... which i think is set at 22 mph... if anybody knows any truth behind this plz post it. thnx..

I wasnt aware the override now works in reverse too. On the older ones, it only overrides the diff lock rev limiter.

I had misplaced my key on my grizz for a while and found that the toolpack contained one. I have since found my orig. key and replaced the spare. Might be a duh.... but if you have never looked in your toolpack.... good luck

Hey Grizzman42, a buddy of mine lost his keys for his shee. He went to a lock smith, the smith took the tumblers apart and then cut new keys to fit. The cost was alot less than what the stealer want to fix his problem. Check it out, it's an option.

They could have changed it on the 06 Griz, but I doubt it. More than likely the dealer didn't know what he was talking about. Go figure. On the 05 and earlier models, the override only works for going forward with the dif locked. I've never had to use mine either. Override for reverse is a good idea. You can buy a kit on Ebay for about $15 or you can get the instructions and do it yourself.

i read the Feed Back of the guy who sells the "reverse limiter bypass kit" on ebay, and discovered that what he is selling for $12 dollars plus S/H is a single piece of wire about 5 inches long, and some very vague instructions,,,read his FB and you to will see at the disappointment of his buyers for what they recieved for their hard earned money,,,,he's basically a scammer

if you want a good site that explains exactly what to do ,and to to a nice job,go to

http://www.silverbearatvs.com/revor.htm

the guy has a very nice explanation on how to do it

The override allows you to bypass the 22 mph governed speed in diff lock and also will allow you to have full throttle in reverse. I have used the override many times on steep hill climbs to get a good run at the hill.

curls,,,,, we know what it does

hondabuster,,,you are correct,,,my '05,the "over ride" does NOT work on reverse,,,,the site i posted earlier explains in detail how to install one for reverse,,and again,DO NOT buy the kit on ebay, read his FB,he is a scammer, you will be paying $15 bucks for a .02 cent piece of wire

i just havnt got around to tackling that job yet
